Overview
This document provides technical specifications and operational procedures for a specific model of tilt sensors used in bus systems. It includes instructions for setting up, testing, and configuring the sensors, as well as details on communication protocols and data interpretation.
1. Sensor Configuration and Testing
  • Commands must be sent twice consecutively to ensure reliability. The host must not insert other data frames between queries and responses.
  • Each power-on allows for one parameter change, indicated by a communication indicator flashing once per second.
2. Register Table
  • Users can access different axis data by adjusting register addresses and lengths. Key registers include:
    • X-axis angle (Register 40003)
    • Y-axis angle (Register 40005)
    • Temperature data (Register 40007)
    • Product address (Register 40018)
    • Serial port baud rate (Register 40019)
3. Reading Angle Data
  • MODBUS function code 03H is used to read data. The data fields in the slave reply frame are parsed to obtain X and Y-axis angles and temperature.
  • Angle conversion involves obtaining the current angle point count, converting to decimal, subtracting an offset, and multiplying by a coefficient.
4. Setting Sensor Parameters
  • Relative/Absolute Zero: Use MODBUS function code 06H. Commands must be sent twice for effectiveness.
  • Sensor Address: Default is 1. Use function code 06H to change, requiring two consecutive commands.
  • Serial Port Baud Rate: Factory default is 9600bps. Use function code 06H to set, with options ranging from 4800 to 115200bps.
  • Parity Bit: Factory default is even parity. Options include no parity and odd parity.
  • Output Mode: Factory default is 0Hz. Options include Q&A mode and frequencies from 5Hz to 100Hz.
  • Latitude: Default is 22.69°. Set using function code 06H, with a coefficient of 0.01.
  • Filter Length: Controls the sensor's filter length, requiring a power cycle to take effect.
5. Communication Examples
  • Examples are provided for setting relative/absolute zero, sensor address, baud rate, parity check, output mode, latitude, and filter length.

Note, please read the description below carefully before using: 1> Because the MODBUS protocol stipulates that the time between two data frames should be at least 3.5 bytes (for example, at a baud rate of 9600, the time is 3.5x(1/9600)x11=0.004s). But in order to leave enough margin, please leave a time interval of 10ms between each data frame, please note that the automatic output of the product does not consider the T3.5 time. The host sends a command -- 10ms idle -- the slave replies to the command -- 10ms idle -- the host sends a command... 2> The MODBUS stipulates the broadcast address----0,...

Note: The data fields of the slave reply frame are 50H, 46H, 00H, 00H, 23H, 20H, 00H, 00H, 03H, 57H The X-axis represents the 1st to 4th bytes of the data field, the Y-axis represents the 5th to 8th bytes of the data field, and the lower bytes come first. The representation method of angle is dot notation, where one point corresponds to 0.0001 °, and 0.0001 x (dot offset) is the angle. If the measurement range is ± 10 °, the total number of points is 200000.So 0 corresponds to -10 °, 200000 corresponds to+10 °, and 100000 corresponds to 0 °. Taking the above data frame as an example: the process...
