4. Category 3: Safety-related parts must be designed so that a single fault does not lead to the loss of the safety function. Some faults are detected, but accumulation of undetected faults can lead to loss.
5. Category 4: Similar to Category 3, but faults are detected in time to prevent loss of the safety function. Accumulation of faults should not lead to loss.
