Typical areas for SERTO SELECTION • Vacuum applications • Dosing systems • Laser technology • Analysis technology • Food technology • Sterilisation systems • Optical systems • Coating technology The SERTO SELECTION is of interest for you if • the cleanliness of the components is extremely important to you. • you require lubricant-free stainless steel unions. • your application requires tightness greater than 10-9 mbar × l/s. • you use orbitally welded components. • you use internally electropolished tubes. • you would like to refrain from using separate sealing components. SERTO SELECTION...

Radial union principle The SERTO SELECTION union consists of three components: a union body, the weld-on nipple (UHP) or the compression ferrule (HP) and the union nut. The flat sealing surfaces are pressed against each other when the nut is installed. You can therefore also benefit from the radial mounting/dismounting in this range of products. The modern orbital welding system is used to connect the tubes with the UHP components. Lubricant-free connections The flat sealing surfaces of the weld-on nipples (UHP) and compression ferrules (HP) are coated with silver or PTFE. This coating acts...

Cleaning system All parts undergo a multi-stage process in several cleaning and rinsing baths in the cleaning system. They are placed in special racks for protection and to ensure flawless sealing surfaces. The cleaning process corresponds to the SERTO standard no. XDC-AA140-0158. In the adjacent ISO Class 8 certified clean room, the SERTO SELECTION components are vacuum-packed individually and double packed in plastic bags. Delivery Lint-free plastic boxes are used for the outer packaging.

Bending and welding tubes Bending excellence The use of different bending procedures and techniques, the ultra-modern 10-axis bending centres and many years of experience make it possible to bend virtually all geometries, and that includes the bending of internally electropolished stainless steel tubes. The recommended bending radius for electropolished tubes is ≥ 2d. Orbital welding excellence Orbital welding of tubes or of entire assemblies is also part of the range of in-house services provided by SERTO. The welding is carried out automatically with a supply of added inert gas with...

Cleaning and assembling tubes The benefits of bended tubes In the test laboratory, bended tubes were compared with tubes equipped with welded fittings. Bended tubes have fewer potential leakage areas and exhibit a reduced drop in pressure in the media flow. Furthermore, they also provide clear cost benefits compared to welded tubes as fewer parts are needed. An external testing laboratory has confirmed that there is no increased susceptibility to corrosion in the bending area. Cleaning Pre-assembled and ready-to-install tubes are flow cleaned. Application-specific formulations define the...
