The ISO 14001:2015 environment management system The ISO 14001 standard is a certifiable standard, i.e. certificates of conformity to the requisites contained therein can be obtained from an accredited certifying Body that operates within certain rules. Obtaining certification according to ISO 14001 is not mandatory, but is a voluntary choice by the Company/Organization which decides to establish, implement, maintain active or improve its own environment management system. The ISO 9001:2015 quality system Certification of the quality management system ensures the capacity of an Organisation to structure itself and manage its resources and production processes in such a manner as to recognise and satisfy the needs of the customers (including mandatory requirements), as well as the commitment to improve this capacity constantly, in the context of an approach to processes, in the light of the eight fundamental principles of quality management. The ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) All requirements of this document are generic and are intended to be applicable to all organizations in the food chain, regardless of size and complexity. Organizations that are directly or indirectly involved include, but are not limited to, feed producers, animal food producers, harvesters of wild plants and animals, farmers, producers of ingredients, food manufacturers, retailers, and organizations providing food services, catering services, cleaning and sanitation services, transportation, storage and distribution services, suppliers of equipment, cleaning and disinfectants, packaging materials and other food contact materials. This document allows any organization, including small and/or less developed organizations (e.g. a small farm, a small packer-distributor, a small retail or food service outlet) to implement externallydeveloped elements in their FSMS. ECOLABEL Certification The European Ecolabel assignment system makes it possible for European consumers, both public and private, to easily identify the “green” products recognised in the European Union, Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland. It also makes it possible for producers to show and communicate to their consumers that their products are environment-friendly. A new regulation came into force in 2000 whereby the system is extended to services. Now onwards wholesalers and retailers can directly get the Ecolabel for their own brands, making the Ecolabel system even more interesting.
