Solid & Powder Steam & Water SAMPLE CONDITIONING The Sentry® TLC twist-lock cell holder allows users to easily remove conductivity probe sensors - used to find the concentration of total dissolved solids in a water sample - for maintenance without tools. The twist-lock cell holder saves significant time during calibration and maintenance and allows users to easily and quickly swap sensors between cell holders while troubleshooting. MODEL TLC BENEFITS With industry-standard stainless steel cell holders for the probes, the maintenance process can be labor intensive, and because the probes are threaded into the cell holders, cords often are twisted, increasing the possibility of breaking the wires. Plus, thread galling or seizing, which is common with stainless steel due to the wearing between metal surfaces also occurs relatively frequently, requiring replacement of either or both the probe and the holder. Solving these issues, the Sentry TLC twist-lock cell holder provides quick release of the probe holder and prevents twisted cables. The adapter threads onto the probe, which allows the operator to remove the conductivity cell from the Sentry TLC and replace it easily with a quarter turn of the wrist. Easy assembly involves applying Teflon tape to the sensor threads, and then threading the adapter onto the sensor with the O-ring pointed toward the sensor tip. Then the user simply hand tightens it firmly to ensure that the adapter will not become loose when it is inserted and removed from the holder. Stop pins allow this insertion and removal without the operator needing to see the process or visually align the threads. Removing and reinstalling a probe with the Sentry TLC takes only about five seconds. The Sentry TLC can be used in place of a threaded stainless steel version, requiring much less labor, preventing thread galling and needed replacement of the probe and/or holder.
