This high impedance instrument is an excellent choice for solving multiple problems associated with operating a medium voltage system. Measure voltage drop and check phase to ground voltage when investigating a voltage complaint. Further, take phase to phase measurements with 1% accuracy, an improvement over traditional phasing methods. The only points on the meter that conduct a signal are the two ends, which is the safest method for taking two-point voltage measurements. The extension cable used to make the two point connection is rated 40,000 VDC, with a breakdown voltage of 80,000 VDC. The housing is built to operate safely, even in harsh environmental conditions. This meter deploys onto a line by using a hot stick with a universal chuck adapter. The voltage measurement is communicated to the display via a non-licensed radio, which shows the voltage measurement and continues to update the reading three times per second. The receiver features a five-digit display with full scale one volt resolution. While in the HOLD mode the display will hold up to four readings. The receiver display gives instant confirmation of the reading. The user has the option to hold the receiver in their hands, mount it to a hot stick, or mount it to the bucket.
