Aerospace Defence Measurement Railway Sensorex® High performances IMU, VRU, dynamic tilt sensor SX43045 & SX43046 model Key features • Ranges: accelerometers (±2.5g & ±10g), gyrometers ±300°/s and Pitch/Roll ±60° • CAN BUS, RS485 MODBUS outputs & analogue 0/5VDC available on Pitch/ Roll • Designed for use in severe environments: shocks, vibrations and electro-magnetic perturbations. • Very good long term stability • High performances • Auto test function • Turret stabilization • Weapon Remote Station instrumentation • Railways: Automatic Train Control (ATC), Automatic Train Operations (ATO), Positive Train Control (PTC), Communication based Train Control (CBTC) • Robotics • Safety purposes (cranes, platforms. loading arms) • Civil engineering excavators • Antenna positioning MEGGiTT smart engineering for extreme environments This triple functions sensor (acceleration, angular speed & attitude) is an IMU “Inertial Measurement Unit” and a bi-axial sensor, usable for accelerations, angular speeds and tilts measurement, in dynamical conditions, of roll (around its X axis) and pitch (around its Y axis), at a 30Hz bandwidth. The innovation of this sensor (with regards to traditional sensor) relies on its capacity to measure these inclinations in the presence of dynamic conditions (vibrations, parasitic constant accelerations, etc...) keeping excellent accuracy. This is made possible by the use of 3 gyrometers and 3 accelerometers coming from MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical System) technology, and a treatment by a Kalman filter algorithm. All inertial sensors information, roll and pitch angles, and the status (error or internal failure, overflow of inclination measurements limits) of the sensor are provided on a CAN bus, and a RS485 bus MODBUS RTU protocol. Further to that, roll and pitch angles are also provided on analogue format (0-5V voltage).
