TECHNICAL INFORMATION PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE SYSTEMS MO8701G3 MODBUS/TCP COMMUNICATIONS RACK MODULE MODBUS Slave TCP Interface Remote Access Measurement and Alarm Up to 128 channels IP Address Configurable Easy to configure Fits Standard Sentry G3 Rack The Sentry G3 TCPIP Communications module is designed to provide Modbus over TCP connectivity to the Sentry G3 module parameters. The module performs as a bridge between the TCP and RS485 Modbus protocols. The module can only be located in slot 6 of the G3 racking system which permits access to the RJ45 sockets through the rear of the rack. The communication module provides connection for up to 32 Sentry G3 modules or 128 measurement channels through the Sentry G3 RS485 integrated back-plane bus. Multiple racks can be connected to a single MO8701 by daisy chaining the serial port from rack to rack. The MO8701 communicates to each Sentry module via the RS485 parallel bus through a unique address set up on each module via the configuration software. The module behaves as a MODBUS TCP Slave on the network providing access to measured parameter values, alarm levels and alarm status for each channel. 1
