Product catalog summary
Overview: Sécheron SA is a leader in DC traction power substations, offering a comprehensive range of equipment and expertise in electrification of DC traction networks. Their MBS DC switchgear range is designed to meet IEEE/ANSI standards, providing modular and customizable solutions for safe power distribution and reliable control systems.
Specifications: The MBS switchgear is available in various configurations, with rated service currents ranging from 2000A to 8000A and rated voltages of 800/1600 VDC. The switchgear includes high-speed circuit breakers (UR series), protection and control systems, and high voltage busbar compartments. Key components are designed and manufactured by Sécheron, ensuring full compatibility.
Components and Features: The switchgear integrates several key components: high-speed circuit breakers, current and voltage measuring amplifiers, disconnectors, and the SEPCOS protection and control unit. The SEPCOS unit supports modular PLC programming and is compatible with various communication protocols, including MODBUS-TCP and IEC61850.
Design and Functionality: The MBS switchgear features a compact design with front access, allowing installation against walls. The high-speed circuit breaker trolley is withdrawable and can be moved between service, test, disconnected, and removed positions, ensuring user safety. A motorized trolley option is available for remote disconnection.
Applications: The switchgear is suitable for various applications, including line feeders, rectifier breakers, and coupling DS panels. It supports configurations for incoming, negative, and coupling DS cubicles, with options for motorized or manual operation.
Standards and Testing: The switchgear complies with standards such as IEC61992-2:2006 and EN50123-2:2003. It has undergone type tests for rated continuous current, short-circuit current withstand, and internal arc tests, ensuring reliability and safety.
Services: Sécheron offers additional services, including DC system engineering, dynamic network simulation, short-circuit and harmonic calculations, and installation supervision. They provide complete DC substation systems, including transformer-rectifier groups, energy storage systems, and human-machine interfaces.

D.C. SWITCHGEAR RANGE / TYPE MBS ( IEEE / ANSI STANDARDS ) Safety features / functioning The withdrawable high speed circuit breaker trolley has four positions: • Service position • Test position • Disconnected position • Removed position When the trolley is in service position, the front high voltage door is locked and it is not possible to access the trolley. When high voltage is applied to the breaker, it must be open before the trolley can be moved from service to test position. The trolley is moved from one position to another either manually by an external handle or electrically via the...

Disconnecting D.C. Switchgear: Description Disconnector cubicles are applied for incoming DS, negative DS or coupling DS. The system contains two compartments: • High voltage compartment • Low-voltage compartment Each compartment has a separate front door and can be mounted against the wall. Cable connection is possible from the bottom or top. Disconnectors are rated 2000A, 4000A, 6300A and 8000A. Incoming DS Cubicle: Incoming DS cubicles isolate the positive high voltage output transformer/rectifier group from the feeder DC distribution bus. Disconnectors may have single or double poles. Double...
