Distant control-command and inverter Sécheron provides Inverters for DC traction projects up to 3.6 kV. One system has been installed in a substation near Montreux (Switzerland) for a mountain train, in cooperation with our customer and partner Goldenpass. In this specific application, nominal voltage is 950 V DC. The converter is based on IGBT and is connected to the AC through a dedicated transformer. Sécheron would like to sincerely thank goldenpass for the valued collaboration and for the success of this innovative system. Inverter based on IGBT Braking / regenerating train A dynamic table indicates the time of ascending and descending trains. During acceleration and braking phases of the train (illustrated by images from webcams on site), it is possible to see on a synoptic the evolution of the line voltage, the consumed current, the regenerated current and the calculation of the energy savings. A computer connected to the equipment on site through a secure internet connection can also show the status and performance of the system. Accelerating train Sécheron is able to demonstrate on its booth the real-time functioning of a DC traction substation; it represents the real-time traffic.
