Clare developed the Mains Cord Test Set in response to cord set manufacturer’s requirement for a production line tester that ensured 100% build integrity and the electrical safety of their product. This instrument, when coupled with a dedicated test enclosure, provides complete test cycles in three seconds and will check Earth continuity, Line and Neutral continuity / polarity, insulation between all cores and between cores, the outer surfaces of plug tops and other fitted connectors. The A320 Power Cord Tester can also be set for 2-core lead sets, with the Earth test being replaced by a sensing circuit to detect the presence of a 3-core lead if incorrectly loaded.
