JIC Flare Couplings - 1

Technical Information í General Press cone flare tube fittings guarantee a high safety margin in extreme variations of vibration, pressure shocks and temperature. í Quality Press cone has been a byword for quality and precision for many years. The components are continuously checked during production a test record is always written before final assembly. Following rigorous quality control, each part is stamped with pressCone AISI/316 AWD a quality control number, allowing each component to be traced back through its entire production history. í Construction Characteristics The structural dimension of the flare tube fittings comply with the ISO8434-2 and SAE norms. The 3-piece-coupling consists of the body, nut and stud-bush. The sealing and retaining function of the flared pipe is just mechanically. The coupling body can be used for metrical and inch sized pipes when the stud-bush is being changed. Changes regarding to technical advances or dimensional changes are subject to change without prior notice. í Advantages: Press cone flare tube fittings offer the following benefits: í secure tube holding through tube flare í only one sectioning point between tube and body í high strip-off safety degree due to form - fit construction í metallic seal, independent of medium and temperature í high resistance to pressure surges and vibrations in the system í Materials Press cone – couplings are manufactures form drawn or wrought AISI 316 / AISI 316 Ti with works acceptance certificate to DIN50049/3.1 B. special materials on request. Standard O-rings are Perbunan NBR with temperature range of -40° up to +100°. O-rings in Viton available on request. í Consistency: Under normal operating conditions (static) and temperatures around 20 ° C the working pressure (PB) can be selected to conform to the nominal pressure (PN) given on the individual tables. In case of increased temperatures the working pressure should be reduced relative to nominal pressure as follows. Temperature Range / Pressure Reduction -60°C to +20°C 0% +100°C 11 % +50°C 4,5% +150°C 16 % í Temperature: N.B. DIN 17440, TAB 6 recommends a max. temperature of 300° C for AISI 316 and 400 °C for AISI 316Ti. On fittings with captive seals, the temperature ranges of the sealing material must be observed: Perbunan NBR -40°C to +100 °C Viton -25°C to +200°C. í For your safety: Tube connections periodically have to sustain high pressure surges and vibrations. Product integrity can only be achieved by the use of pressCone original components and by observance of pC assembly instructions. Failure to observe these assembly instructions may adversely affect operational safety and may invalidate product guarantee.

Assembly instructions For assemblies of pC flare tube fittings we recommend the use of seamless bright annealed stainless steel tubes for cold-bending and flaring to DIN2391 part 1 or to DIN 2462 with a tolerance D4/T3. í Preparation of the tubes: í Ensure that the tubes do not have inside longitudinal scratches í Cut tubing with a fine blade hacksaw, make sure cut is square and remove inside and outside burrs í Deburr the tube endings inside and outside í Clean the tube thoroughly inside and outside í Do not use a pipe - cutter! í Additional coverage í Each flaring shortens the tube length...

Assembly instructions For flaring of stainless steel tubes we recommend the use of a hardened or mechanically resistant flaring mandrel. Check the flare of the tube with the dimensions shown in the following table. í N.B. The flare collar must be square and concentric to the tube as well as to the flared body of 37°. Unequal flares point to either defective tools or to operational errors. The inside cone of the tube must be clean, if the surface is faulty (longitudinal strias etc. ) it should be polished with a polishing mandrel. í Final assembly: í Press the flared tube end to the body´s...
