France and Great Britain want to follow this example from 2040 onwards. It is proof that the future belongs to electromobility. Scheugenpflug already has powerful solutions in stock for the economical series production of batteries and by extension for the mega trend of eMobility. One of the biggest challenges in the production of batteries is to guarantee an efficient thermal management. Currently, electric cars predominantly feature Li-ion batteries. Though in order to prevent damages, the temperature of these batteries must not exceed 60°C. To guarantee reliable heat dissipation, large quantities of highly viscous and highly filled thermally conductive media are required - and those media have to be precisely and reliably applied to the batteries or the related cooling structures. For clarification: An average-sized battery for an electric vehicle requires roughly five liters of thermally conductive material -with rising tendency. This sets high standards for the employed dispensing technology - both with regard to the required cycle times and in terms of maintenance and wear. 50 ml/s with high viscosity media Scheugenpflug improved its reliable piston dispenserto better suit this market's requirements. The result was the new volumetric high-performance dispenser for potting batteries, which now achieves dispensing rates of up to 50 ml/s - even when using very abrasive and paste-like materials. Marketleading service life as well as quick and easy maintenance -and thus considerably reduced maintenance expenses - are additional features of the new high-performance dispenser. Continuous material supply without downtimes With a filler ratio of up to 90 percent, thermally conductive materials pose high demands on the employed system technology. For potting batteries, the new follower plate pump for 200 liter barrels suits perfectly. Based on the proven A280 piston pump unit, the system enables a fast and process reliable feed of highly filled media to the dispenser. In order to meet the required cycle times, it is possible to connect two follower plate pumps with the dispenser. This way, an uninterrupted system operation without downtimes can be realized.
