Overview
Scapa offers a range of fire retardant and semi-conductive tapes designed to meet stringent fire safety and electrical performance requirements. These tapes are primarily used in cable manufacturing to enhance fire resistance and electrical conductivity.
Fire Retardant Tapes- Composition: Made from a finely woven glass substrate with intrinsic fire retardant properties and a surface coating for weave stability. Free from halogens and sulphur.
- Applications: Serve as a fire barrier, retaining cable integrity during and after fire exposure, and extending fire-survival time.
- Specifications: Available in various tensile strengths, weights, and thicknesses to suit different cable types and applications.
- Key Features: High tensile strength for excellent binding, compliance with IEC60332-3 Category A and IEC331 standards, customizable dimensions.
Semi-Conductive Tapes- Function: Perform electrical functions within a cable, equalizing field current and ensuring electrical contact with the earthing system.
- Applications: Used for core and conductor screening, preventing electrolytic corrosion, and enhancing performance.
- Specifications: Made from woven nylon or polyester, available in various tensile strengths, weights, and thicknesses.
- Key Features: High electrical conductance, abrasion resistance, temperature stability, and conformability for good contact with conductors.
General Information- All tapes are free from halogens and sulphur to improve fire safety and prevent copper staining.
