Peripheral Traction Clarifiers with Sludge Suction PTA

Product catalog summary
Overview
Peripheral Traction Clarifiers with Sludge Suction (PTA) are designed for use in circular primary and secondary settlement tanks in municipal and industrial purification plants. They are effective in removing biological sludge and floating particles.

Specifications
The PTA system consists of a movable truck supported centrally on a rotating support and peripherally on a traction trolley. It operates with a gear motor connected to a slip ring. Wastewater enters through a central cylinder, allowing sludge to settle at the bottom while light particles float. Special syphon pipes with scraper blades remove the settled sludge, and floating particles are collected by a surface scraper.

Benefits
  • Quick installation
  • High removal efficiency of sludge and floating material
  • Easy installation for existing tanks

Applications
PTA systems are suitable for tanks up to 60 meters in diameter and offer various options such as scum removal devices, different material constructions (carbon steel, 304L, 316L stainless steel), and additional features like control panels and motorized cleaning brushes.

Technical Features
The PTA models vary in internal tank diameter from 5 to 32 meters, with tank depths ranging from 2.00 to 4.50 meters and water levels from 1.60 to 4.00 meters. The peripheral speed is consistent at 1.2 to 1.8 meters per minute, and motor power ranges from 0.37 to 1.1 kW depending on the model size.

Conclusion
PTA clarifiers are versatile and efficient solutions for wastewater treatment, offering customizable options to meet specific plant requirements.

Peripheral Traction Clarifiers with Sludge Suction PTA-1

Waste Water Treatment Peripheral Traction Clarifiers with Sludge Suction PTA DS.PTA.EN.October 2015.R00 Rights reserved to modify technical specifications. Description ▼ Peripheral Traction Clarifiers PTA are used to suck biological sludge and remove floating particles in circular primary and secondary settlement tanks in both municipal and industrial purification plants. This equipment is composed of a movable truck lying in the centre on a rotating central support and at its periphery on a traction trolley. The clarifier is operated by a gear motor connected to a slip ring placed in the central support. Waste water enters the concrete tank by means of a central cylinder, which spreads the liquid. Sludge settles on the tank bottom, while light particles and scum float. Thanks to the slow truck movement, special syphon pipes equipped with scraper blades suck the settled sludge. The syphon pipes are adjusted by means of telescopic valves installed on the walkway. Floating particles are collected by the surface scraper and conveyed into the scum-box. Clean water flows into the peripheral launder through the Thomson profile weirs. Application Benefits 3 Quick installation; 3 High removal efficiency of sludge and floating material; 3 Easy installation also for existing tanks. www.savi-water.com www.wamgroup.com
