FEEDING - WEIGHING LOSS IN WEIGHT FEEDER DPP 50 DEFINITION AND PRINCIPLE The Loss-in-Weigh Feeder extracts the product from a hopper and according to the fixed flow rate « set point » adjusts the discharged weight by varying the discharges speed to keep constant the loss in weight flow. The weight of the material in the hopper is measured by a highly accurate weighing platform. The decrease in the total weight of the « weight loss » per unit of time is compared to the « set point value » (continuous feeder). The Loss in Weight feeder can also be used as a batch-type feeder. The feeder can be made of carbon steel or stainless steel. CONSTRUCTION AND CHARACTERISTICS The loss-in-weight feeder consists of four main parts : A storage hopper adapted to the material characteristics and required flow-rate. An extraction and feeding device (screw, vibrating tray, belt…) A high accurate weighing plate with one or four strain gauge load cells and digital signal processing unit An electrical and control command cubicle Storage hopper where the capacity depends on the required flow-rate, operating range and accuracy 1 2 Standard electrical junction box Two flexible sleeves (inlet & outlet) 7 for machine isolation. 3 The homogenization mixer ensures a continuous flow of material into the discharger and maintains constant 6 the bulk density Material discharge feeder which can be a single or twin screw, vibrating tray or belt conveyor Drive unit including the AC gear-motor Protection IP 55 or IP 65 Electrical supply : 110/230, 380/400 V/50Hz/60Hz Highly accurate weighing plate including one, two or four strain gauge load cells and the digital signal processing unit in IP 65 4 metallic or PVC box.
