Body type Double flange • Design standard EN593 / API609 Cat.A / ISO10631 The butterfly valve fitted with a counterweight actuator is a safety valve. Closing it does not require a power source. It is used to protect networks, pumps or turbines and is designed to be opened and/ or closed in compliance with the process. It is opened via a hydraulic jack, which keeps the weight up. The hydraulic power pack and control cabinets may be supplied with the valve in order to make up a full unit. Closure can be fully adapted to the application. It can be closed in as many phases as required. There are several shut-off modes, including a safety mode if a complete loss of control and power occurs. The counterweight butterfly valve replaces the following: • A check valve whose opening is controlled by a counterbalance and hydraulic command system No corrosion thanks to no contact between fluid and body / shafting. The link between the shaft and butterfly is fully isolated from any fluid thanks to its internal connection via a flute or wedge. There is no pin. Easy valve setting: The valve is sealed between 0°C and 5°C due to its seat design. Hydrodynamic torque effects are reduced thanks to the concentric design. No regular maintenance required. This provides a high degree of operational flexibility: • Open in 1 phase or more: With an adjustable timer in order to enable the pipe to be filled when starting up a pump.
