User Interface for the Definition of ILM Policies and ILM Rules (Changed) The terms "retention duration" and "residence duration" have been introduced. Reason: An ILM rule contains time specifications without reference to a timeline. It defines the determination of the start time and the duration (such as the retention duration). Only the result of rule evaluation has a timeline. The system determines the start date for an ILM object based on the rule. Improved Checksums Function (Enhanced) You use checksums to compare the scope of the data from the system to be decommissioned with the scope of the data from the ILM store of the RW system. You do this to ensure that the complete data from the legacy system is available in the ILM store. New Service for Controlling ILM Stores in AS ABAP Storage and Retention Service – SRS (New) The Storage and Retention Service (SRS) — a new service for controlling ILM stores — is available in the application system (AS ABAP). You can use this ABAP-based service instead of the XML Data Archiving Service (XML DAS). This means you can use SAP NetWeaver ILM without a separate AS Java (on which XML DAS runs).
