VENEZIA PRIMER WATER-DILUTABLE UNIFORMING WALL PRIMER FOR INTERIORS AND AND EXTERIORS Series 366 DESCRIPTION VENEZIA PRIMER is a universal covering water-thinnable primer for impregnating and consolidating interior and exterior surfaces. Mainly suitable for uneven surfaces, with grouts and old patches, to even out the absorption of the substrate for the subsequent top layers. The particular formulation makes it suitable as a specific fixative for SILDOMUS SANA. Can be coloured with a tintometer, it gives excellent coverage in painting systems. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE May be applied on: - New and old plasters based on hydraulic binders. - Concrete surfaces. - Gypsum and gypsumboard surfaces. - Old paints and wall coatings that are organic or mineral in nature, dry, compact, absorbent and cohesive. - Mineral conglomerates of various kinds, as long as they are absorbent. Surfaces should be adequately prepared by following the instructions given in the paragraph 'PREPARING THE SURFACE'. Do not apply on freshly-painted and alkaline-tending surfaces, and allow adequate curing time, typically four weeks. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS -Type of Binder: acrylic copolymer in aqueous emulsion -Solvent: water -Specific gravity per UNI EN ISO 2811-1: 1,48±0,05 kg/l -Drying times (at 25°C and 65% R.H.): to touch in 30-40 min; to recoat after 2 hours. PREPARING THE SURFACE Plaster, gypsum and gypsumboard surfaces: - Make sure that the support has a maturation time of at least 28 days. - Check the preservation status. The surface must be smooth. If not, resurface or consolidate using specific products. - If mold is present, treat the surface with COMBAT 222 cleanser code 4810222, and with COMBAT 333 reconstruction code 4810333. - Brush or wash to remove any efflorescence and any old peeling paint. Completely eliminate any raised layers of lime-based or tempera paints. - Remove any dust, smog or other deposits by brushing. - Indoors, level any irregularities in the surface and treat holes, cracks, crevices and gaps with TAMSTUCCO 9400006/9410110; sand putty and touch-ups with sandpaper. - Use adequate sealants to seal any cracks. - Smooth if necessary with RASAMIX 9440160 or with BETOMARC 9450150 or RASOMARC 9500150 according to the type of support. - On a clean, dry surface apply VENEZIA PRIMER following the instruction sections - After 2 hours at least apply finishing product. Concrete surfaces: - Brush or wash to remove any efflorescence and any old peeling paint. Completely eliminate any raised layers of lime-based or tempera paints. - Remove any dust, smog or other deposits by brushing. - If mold is present, treat the surface with COMBAT 222 cleanser code 4810222, and with COMBAT 333 reconstruction code 4810333. - The metal reinforcement disks visible on the surface must be carefully brushed and treated with BETOXAN PRIMER 9490125 passivating agent. - Restore the missing parts with the smoothing coats BETOXAN 400 or BETOXAN 300 Non-shrinking thixotropic fiber-reinforced mortar 9490140/0130; perform the final smoothing with BETOXAN 200 Non-shrinking anti-carbonation smoothing coat 9490120. - On a clean, dry surface apply VENEZIA PRIMER following the instruction sections - After 2 hours at least apply finishing product.(The thinning of the sealer and the quantity to be applied depend on the level of absorption of the surface and should be determined by performing preliminary tests on the specific surface). APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS - Air and support surface conditions: Air temperature: Min. +8 °C / Max. +35 °C Relative environmental humidity: <75% Support surface temperature: Min. +5 °C / Max. +35 °C Moisture level of the support surface: <10% -Avoid applying when surface condensation is present, or in direct sunlight. -Tools: brush, roller. -Nr of coats: 1-2 -Diluting: 20-30% with water. -Clean tools with water immediately after use. -Indicative spreading rate: 8-10 mq/l per coat. It is advisable to perform a preliminary test on the specific support surface to determine yield. TINTING The product is available in white and can be coloured using the color matching system. The product may be tinted using COLORADO series 548 colorants up to 5%. STORAGE Maximum temperature for storage stability: +30 °C Minimum temperature for storage stability: +5 °C The product should be preferably used within 2 years from date of manufacture when stored in original unopened containers and in appropriate temperature conditions.
