Type 41-23 Universal Pressure Reducing Valve

Type 41-23 Universal Pressure Reducing Valve

Product catalog summary
Application: The document describes the Type 41-23 Universal Pressure Reducing Valve, suitable for regulating pressure in liquids, gases, and vapors up to 350°C. It is designed for set points from 0.05 to 28 bar and valve nominal sizes DN 15 to 100, with nominal pressure PN 16 to 40. The valve closes when downstream pressure rises.
Special Features: The valve is a low-maintenance, self-operated pressure regulator that requires no auxiliary energy. It features a frictionless plug stem seal with stainless steel bellows, a wide set point range, and convenient adjustment. The valve includes a spring-loaded, single-seated design with pressure balancing and a soft-seated plug for high shut-off requirements.
Versions: The standard version regulates downstream pressure to an adjusted set point. Special versions include valves for low flow rates, steam pressure reduction, and increased safety with features like leakage line connections and diaphragm rupture indicators.
Principle of Operation: The valve operates by balancing forces from upstream and downstream pressures using a balancing bellows. The downstream pressure is tapped and transmitted to the operating diaphragm, which adjusts the valve plug position according to the set point springs.
Technical Data: The valve is available in various materials, including cast iron, cast steel, and stainless steel, with different sealing options for temperature and leakage requirements. The actuator types and set point ranges are specified, with maximum permissible temperatures and pressures detailed.
Installation: The valve is typically installed with the actuator suspended downwards, with pipelines sloped for condensate drainage. A control line kit is available for pressure tapping directly at the valve body.
Accessories: Accessories include screw joints, compression-type fittings, control line kits, and compensation chambers for temperature protection.
Dimensions and Weights: Detailed dimensions and weights for various valve sizes and actuator types are provided, along with specifications for special versions and materials.
Noise Level Calculation: The document includes terms for noise level calculation according to VDMA 24422, with specific coefficients and correction terms for different flow conditions.

Installation Normally, the valve is installed with the actuator suspended downwards. Install pipelines horizontally with a slight downward slope on both sides of the valve for drainage of the condensate. - The direction of flow must correspond with the arrow on the valve body. - The control line must be adapted to match the onsite conditions and is not delivered with the valve. On customer request, a control line kit for pressure tapping directly at the valve body (see Accessories) is available.
