Type 2422/2425 Excess Pressure Valve

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document details the specifications and operational principles of the Type 2422/2425 Excess Pressure Valve, a self-operated pressure regulator designed for controlling upstream pressure in various media including liquids, gases, and vapors up to 350°C. It is suitable for nominal sizes DN 125 to 250 and pressures PN 16 to 40.
Specifications: The valve operates by opening when upstream pressure rises, with set points ranging from 0.05 to 2.5 bar. It features low-maintenance, medium-controlled proportional regulation without auxiliary energy, and offers a wide set point range with convenient adjustment. The valve is available in special versions for low-noise operation and with various diaphragm materials for different applications.
Technical Data: The valve is available in different materials including cast iron, spheroidal graphite iron, cast steel, and stainless steel. It can be balanced by a bellows or diaphragm, with different KVS coefficients and maximum permissible differential pressures depending on the configuration. The actuator is available in sizes with areas of 320 cm² and 640 cm², with maximum permissible temperatures for gases at 80°C and liquids at 150°C, extendable to 350°C with a compensation chamber.
Installation and Accessories: Valves should be installed with the actuator suspended downward, and pipelines should have a slight downward slope to prevent condensation. A control line should be connected from a pressure tapping point upstream of the valve. Accessories include screw joints for control line connection and compensation chambers for high-temperature applications.
Ordering Information: When ordering, specify the valve type, nominal size, body material, pressure rating, KVS coefficient, set point range, and whether it is balanced by a bellows or diaphragm. Special versions and accessories should also be specified.

T 2549 EN Type 2422/2425 Excess Pressure Valve Self-operated Pressure Regulators Application Pressure regulators for set points from 0.05 to 2.5 bar · Valve nominal sizes DN 125 to 250 1) · Nominal pressure PN 16 to 40 Suitable for liquids, gases, and vapors up to 350 °C The valve opens when the upstream pressure rises. The excess pressure valves, consisting of a valve and actuator, control the upstream pressure to an adjustable set point. The medium pressure to be kept constant is transmitted through a control line to the diaphragm of the actuator and consequently the valve plug. Special features •• Low-maintenance, medium-controlled proportional regulators requiring no auxiliary energy •• Wide set point range and convenient set point adjustment using a nut •• Exchangeable set point springs and actuator •• Spring-loaded, single-seated valve with upstream and downstream pressures balanced by a stainless steel bellows or by a balancing diaphragm •• Reduced KVS coefficients to adapt the regulator to the operating conditions •• Standard low-noise plug · Special version with flow divider ST 1 or ST 3 for further noise level reduction. Principle of operation (see Fig. 2) The medium flows through the valve in the direction indicated by the arrow. The position of the plug (3) determines the flow rate across the area released between plug (3) and valve seat (2). The plug stem (5) with the plug is connected to the actuator stem (11) of the actuator (10). The upstream pressure p1 is regulated by the set point springs (7) and the set point adjuster (6). When relieved of pressure, the valve is closed by the force of the set point springs. The upstream pressure p1 to be controlled is tapped upstream of the valve and transmitted over...
