Product catalog summary
Description
The Design Envelope Series 6900 IVS DualPak 6900 is a fully integrated Intelligent Variable Speed (IVS) booster system that includes controls, drives, pumps, and motors. It features a compact, headerless design with a small equipment footprint, making it ideal for retrofit applications and new constructions with limited space. The system is factory-tested and ready for installation, offering flow selections from 100-350 USgpm and pressure requirements from 20-100 psi.
Typical Applications
This system is suitable for hotels, motels, resorts, condos, apartments, schools, office buildings, retirement homes, and hospitals. It is designed for projects requiring ceiling mounting or fitting through small doors.
System Features
The system includes a demand-based control system with motor-integrated drives, NEMA premium efficiency motors, and flexible PLC control with BAS communication protocols. It eliminates the need for system bypasses and pressure-reducing valves, and features such as SoftFill, No-Flow Shutdown, and Emergency Power failure mode enhance its functionality.
Available Options
Options include a 7” HMI color touch screen controller, remote pressure transmitter, ASME and Non-ASME rated drawdown tanks, and various panel enclosures.
Certification and Approvals
The system is ISO 9001 certified, with UL508 labeled panels and CSA approved systems. It complies with AB1953 and NSF-61-G standards and includes factory testing and reporting.
Design Envelope Selection Procedure
Users should mark their preliminary design flow and head requirements on the Design Envelope chart, choose a suitable DE model, and specify the model number. Armstrong’s ACE Online tool can assist in selecting the appropriate DE unit.
Why Choose Armstrong Variable Speed Booster System?
The system offers significant energy savings, increased comfort, protection, and system safety, extended system life, superior performance, reduced costs, and environmental benefits. The Armstrong Design Envelope Booster calculator helps in evaluating financial benefits, energy savings, and ROI.

DualPak Series 6900 Design Envelope Armstrong Design Envelopes are a pre-set series of the most efficient pump selections for a given capacity range. The Design Envelope approach allows you to reduce your design risk and avoid costs from equipment change orders. By calculating your preliminary design conditions, and then selecting a Design Envelope with sufficient comfort zone around the preliminary design point, you can select a unit that allows for possible design omissions or system changes anticipated during construction and over the life of the building. 4382 Two Pump Parallel - Curve E-2951...

What is Variable Speed? Armstrong Intelligent Variable Speed (IVS) technology responds quickly to changes in system demand, and adjusts the pump speed so that the booster system outputs only the pressure boost that a building actually needs at any given time. The energy savings realized from reduced operating speed can pay for the initial cost of the pump in less than a year. Why Choose the Armstrong Variable Speed Booster System? Energy and System Maintenance • Reduces typical energy consumption by as much as 95% depending on suction pressure conditions • Ability to provide report detailing...
