The valves operate without auxiliary energy, adjusting downstream pressure to a set point, and close proportionally to pressure changes. The set point is adjustable via a handwheel. The valve should be installed with the actuator upside down in horizontal pipelines, except for liquids and gases below 80°C. A condensation chamber is necessary for steam and liquids above 130°C.
