Operating Parameters Technology Single Direction Engagement Relative to Speed Relative High Shock EC25 performance is best within the following conditions: ҕ0- 40аC (32-104аF) 100-800 rpm typical, 1400 rpm max. ՕMinimum load friction torque 6 oz-in (0.05N-m) plus customer input bearing torque. Electromechanical wrap spring clutch. Wrap spring clutches provide torque only in the direction in which they wrap down. This allows for overrunning. The EC25 relies on relative motion between the input and output for engagement. Thus, the slower the speed, the longer the time until engagement. Due to the EC25srapid acceleration, system inertia effects can be significant. In some applications an in-line slip device may be used for shock absorption. Low Wattage Rapid Acceleration High Torque, Small Package Size Consistent Performance Power Source The EC25 requires only 2.5 watts of power for engagement. After spring wrap-down, the EC25 will accelerate loads from zero to full speed in less than 3 milliseconds. The EC25 provides 25 lb-in (2.83 N-m) of total load over a life of 1 million actuations with an outside diameter of about 1.2 inches (30mm), and a shaft length of about 1 inch (27mm). Engagement is made with virtually no slippage and disengagement is almost instantaneous. All Reell clutches operate on either filtered or unfiltered dc power.
