Product catalog summary
Installation Guide Overview
This document provides installation instructions for Rotary Systems' Series 013, 015, 017, 019, 021, 023, 025, and 027. It outlines the proper use and mounting procedures to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the rotary union.
1. Connection of Fittings
  • All fittings should be connected to the housing before installation.
  • Avoid using rigid piping to prevent compromising the union's lifespan.
  • Use flexible hoses with a slight bend to maintain flexibility and ensure they can handle the working pressure safely.
  • Hoses should be properly supported to avoid side loading the union.
2. Anti-Rotation Method
  • Implement a preferred anti-rotation method that allows the union to find its center.
  • Avoid hard mounting both the rotor and housing of the union.
  • Options include using an anti-rotation fork around a housing fitting or an anti-rotation bracket mounted to the rear of the housing.
3. Fastening the Rotor Flange
  • Ensure the counterbore is machined to the correct depth with a finish of 32 RMS or better.
  • Tighten fasteners evenly in a crisscross pattern to the specified requirements.
