In die Ferrule ist werkseitig ein kurzes Faserstück eingeklebt, das an der Ferrulenstirnseite poliert ist. Im Stecker innen ist das andere Ende des Faserstückes hochpräzise senkrecht zur Faserachse gebrochen und in dem mit Index-Matching-Gel gefüllten CamSplice™ positioniert. Die zu konfektionierende Faser wird bei der Installation mit dem Faserbrechwerkzeug des UniCam™ Werkzeugsets ebenfalls präzise senkrecht zu ihrer Achse gebrochen und dann von hinten in den mechanischen CamSplice™ im Stecker eingeführt. Der Stecker ist hierzu im UniCam™ Montagewerkzeug eingesetzt, womit der CamSplice™ geschlossen und die 900 ìm-Ader gecrimpt wird. Für Simplex-Kabeltypen gibt es zusätzlich eine Crimphülse für das Zugentlastungsgarn und den Kabelmantel. Die Steckermontage auf eine 900 ìm-Ader dauert weniger als eine Minute, die auf Simplex-Kabel mit Kabelcrimp nur ca. 2 Minuten. The ferrule incorporates a factory glued and at their tip surface polished short piece of fiber. Inside of the connector the other end of the fiber is cleaved highly precise to their axis and positioned in the CamSplice™ which is filled with Index-Matching-Gel. The fiber which has to be assembled, has to be cleaved precisely at right angle to the axis too using the fiber-cleaver in the UniCam™ tool kit and then inserted into CamSplice™ connectors from the rear. For this the connector is seated in the Assembly-Tool of the UniCam™ tool kit. With this tool the CamSplice™ will be locked and the 900ìm-Buffer will be crimped. For simplex cable types there’s an additional crimp-ring for the strain relief yarn and the jacket. The assembly time of a connector at a 900ìm-buffered fiber is less than one minute, the time for a simplex cable with a cable crimp is approx. 2 minutes.
