When drilling rock, holes often deviate from the desired direction. When hole length increases, deviation may even be several meters. At its worst this results in serious safety hazards, but in all operations it can cause inefficiencies when secondary breaking and blasting have to be done to handle over-sized boulders that are result of deviation. S Sense measurements are immediately available after lifting the drill rods, which allows the operator to react to changing rock conditions.
