Overview: The SB-2500D Shuttle Buggy® is a material transfer vehicle designed for storing and transferring hot mix asphalt from a truck to a paver, ensuring continuous paving. It features a patented anti-segregation auger for remixing materials before delivery to the paver. The vehicle has a 25-ton surge capacity, allowing for immediate truck unloading and return to the asphalt plant. Optional attachments include a windrow pickup head and road widener.

Engine Specifications: The vehicle is powered by a CAT® C9-300 HP, Tier III, 6-cylinder diesel engine, delivering 300 HP at 2,200 rpm. It includes engine instrumentation such as a tach/hour meter, oil pressure, voltage, and an emergency shutdown system. The design allows easy access to the oil cooler and radiator.

Operator’s Station: The SB-2500D features operator positions on both sides with a pivoting control panel for same-lane or adjacent-lane operation. A hydraulically-raisable hood provides easy access to the engine, pumps, and motors. The inside turning radius is 26’6" (8.1 m).

Ground Drive: The vehicle uses a hydrostatic drive for continuously variable speed control with two speed ranges. It features an electric-over-hydraulic shift between working and transport ranges, with maximum speeds of 3.0 mph (4.8 kph) in the working range and 9 mph (14.5 kph) in the travel range.

Tires: Equipped with large, high-flotation tires measuring 21:00 x 25" (53.3 m x 635 mm).

Electrical System: Includes a heavy-duty alternator, battery, and circuit breaker protection for all systems.

Fume Extraction System: Features two blowers and fold-down 10" (254 mm) exhaust pipes.

Conveyors:

• Truck Unloading (C-1): High-capacity system with a low deck height and a 9’2" (2.8 m) truck opening. It includes a segmented converging auger and a power dump front hopper with a vibrator. Conveyor capacity is 1,000 TPH (907 MTPH).
• Surge Bin (C-2): Features a multi-pitch anti-segregation auger and a conveyor system with removable Ni-Hard liner plates. Capacity is 600 TPH (544 MTPH).
• Paver Loading (C-3): The conveyor swings 55 degrees to either side, with a maximum discharge height of 12' 6" (3.8 m). Capacity is 600 TPH (544 MTPH).

Hopper Insert: A mass-flow paver hopper insert increases the hopper capacity of a conventional paver when used with the SB-2500D.
