RIMOSTAT® RS

RIMOSTAT® RS

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides detailed technical specifications and operational principles for RIMOSTAT® Torque Limiters, focusing on their application, advantages, and technical data.
Functionality: RIMOSTAT® Torque Limiters utilize long coil springs to maintain consistent contact pressure on friction surfaces, ensuring stable slipping torque even with wear. The system allows for frequent slipping without significant torque reduction, unlike Belleville spring torque limiters.
Advantages:
  • Suitable for applications with frequent slipping.
  • Stable slipping torque over time.
  • Adjustable slipping torque through the number of active springs.
Technical Specifications: The document lists various models (RS, RSK, RSC) with specifications such as slipping torque range, maximum speed, and dimensions. It includes tables detailing these parameters for different sizes and configurations.
Installation and Supply: Torque limiters are supplied pilot bored with a full complement of springs, without preset slipping torque or bearing bush. Factory settings are available if ordered with built-in components and finish bore.
Accessories and Ordering: Accessories include bearing bushes and tool adapters for sizes 125 and 160. Orders should specify the type of torque limiter, diameter, and width of the bearing bush.
Applications: RIMOSTAT® Torque Limiters are used as slipping shaft couplings to compensate for minor misalignments, with flexible chain coupling options available.

RIMOSTAT® RS-1

Advantages • Particularly suitable in applications with frequent slipping • Better stability of slipping torque than Belleville spring torque limiters over duration of the operating period • Adjustment of slipping torque setting according to the number of active springs – not through modification of spring pressure The RIMOSTAT® Principle The contact pressure on the friction surfaces is produced by long coil springs. Because of the RIMOSTAT® Torque Limiter’s linear, flat-angle characteristic of the pressure force, practically no reduction of the slipping torque occurs even when friction linings are subjected to wear. As the diagram 64-3 shows, compared with Belleville spring torque limiters, assuming a friction wear of Δf the reduction of the slipping torque ΔM is negligible. Function Slipping torque M • When the preset slipping torque has been reached the built-in component (e. g. chain wheel) slips. • During the slipping process, input and output rotate relative to each other and the preset slipping torque continues to be transmitted. • Inherent in the slipping process is a high energy consumption. • Re-engagement is not necessary.
