RIV110 Flow switch

Product catalog summary
Technical Specifications:
The flow switches are designed for controlling the flow of liquids, including corrosive liquids and sea water. They feature a dust-proof microswitch with changeover contacts, suitable for operation in temperatures ranging from -40 to +85 ºC and pressures up to 11 bar (30 bar for SF2 models). The body is made of stainless steel AISI 316L, with an ABS base and a transparent PC lid, offering IP65 protection.

Installation:
The flow switch can be installed in any position, away from elbows or constrictions, with the arrow pointing in the direction of flow. For vertical installations, adjustments are needed to compensate for the paddle's weight. It should be mounted in a straight pipe section, at least five times the diameter of the pipe, without filters or valves.

Electrical Connections:
Connect to the red and white contact of the microswitch. The red-white contact opens when the flow drops below the set value, while the red-blue contact closes in the absence of flow, serving as an alarm or signaling contact.

Function and Applications:
These switches are used for flow control in industrial piping systems, including heating, air-conditioning, refrigeration, fire protection, heat pumps, oil control, and lubrication circuits. They signal a lack or excessive decrease in flow rate.

Flow Rate and Adjustments:
The flow switch is factory-calibrated for a minimum cut-off value, adjustable via a screw. The cut-off value must meet or exceed the minimum flow required for system protection. For models with 'Z', longer vanes are used to achieve specified values. Pressure drop at maximum flow rate is 0.08 bar.

Notes and Recommendations:
If used as a minimum flow controller, an additional control device should be placed downstream to activate alarms. The flow rate table provides guidance on vane selection and adjustment for different pipeline diameters.

FLOW SWITCHES FOR LIQUIDS FLOW CONTROLS Flow switches for liquids Tutti i dati ed i contenuti di questa scheda sono di proprieta esclusiva di Riels Instruments Function Flow control of corrosive liquids, sea water and normal liquids (depending on model). Signalling of lack or excessive decrease in flow rate (safety switch). Made of brass, suitable for normal liquids, and Aisi 316L stainless steel, suitable for sea water and corrosive liquids. Applications For use in piping of industrial plants: - heating and air-conditioning systems; - refrigeration systems; - fire protection systems; - heat pumps; - oil control equipment; - lubrication circuits. Accessory DBZ-09 - Aisi 316L stainless steel vanes for liquid flow switch Technical specifications Contacts: dust-proof microswitch, changeover contacts (n.c./n.o.) Operation: -40...+85 °C 10...90% r.h. (without condensation) Connection: see flow rate table Body: see table above Vane: stainless steel AISI 316L Container: ABS base, transparent PC lid Installation The flow switch can be mounted in any position away from elbows or constrictions and with the arrow pointing in the direction of flow. For installations on vertical pipes, the device must be readjusted to compensate for the weight of the paddle. If the unit is mounted downwards, attention must be paid to any deposits that may form. The unit must be mounted in a straight section of pipe without filters, valves, etc., at least 5 times as long as its diameter, both upstream and downstream. Electrical connections Connect to the red and white contact of the microswitch (fig.1). The red-white contact opens when the flow drops below the set value. When there is no flow, the red-blue contact closes and can be used as an alarm or signalling contact. Riels Instruments Srl • +39 049 8961771 • www.riels.it • [email protected]

RIV110 Flow switch-2

Note The flow switch is calibrated at the factory with reference to the minimum cut-off value. To increase this value, turn the adjustment screw clockwise. The cut-off value must be >= the minimum flow required to guarantee the protection of the system. With devices without T-piece, 4 vanes are supplied (see vane drawing), which must be cut according to the pipework. All units with T-piece can be supplied on request. Attention If the device is used as a minimum flow controller, an additional control device must be placed downstream to activate the alarm condition. Tutti i dati ed i contenuti...
