Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides technical specifications and installation instructions for the Flexible Level Sensor FLD-48 by Riels Instruments. This sensor is designed for detecting liquid levels in non-conductive vessels and features a flexible, self-adhesive design.
Electrical Connection: The sensor requires a positive supply pole (+U) connected to the brown conductor and a negative (0V) to the white. It includes short circuit protection and evaluates capacity loads and low resistance as short circuits.
Applications: The sensor is suitable for limit level sensing of liquids in non-conductive plastic and glass vessels. It features a miniature design for flexible housing, self-adhesive fixing, and LED state indication. It is controlled by a single-chip microprocessor for reliable detection and contamination elimination.
Technical Specifications: The sensor operates on a supply voltage of 6-30 V DC, with a maximum current supply of 0.6 mA. It supports a switching current of 3.3 to 40 mA and a maximum switching frequency of 2 Hz. The ambient temperature range is -10 to +60°C, and it is suitable for vessel diameters of at least 200 mm. The protection class is IP 67, and the housing material is polyurethane.
Installation and Sensor Setting: The sensor is attached using a self-adhesive layer. Initial setup requires warming the sensor to the vessel's temperature. The sensor's sensitivity is adjusted using a programming wire to set upper and lower level limits. Modes include SO (opens when the level drops) and SC (connects when the level drops).
Failure Alarm: Incorrect settings or faults at output are indicated by LED blinking. Short intervals indicate incorrect settings, while longer intervals suggest a short-circuit or overrun of maximum allowed current.
Range of Application: The sensor can detect various liquids such as water, diesel, oil, and some solvents. It is suitable for use in plastic and glass vessels, tanks, tubs, pools, and canisters.
Order Code and Accessories: The model FLD-48N is available with 2 or 5-meter cables. Accessories include a spare double-sided self-adhesive tape.

FLEXIBLE LEVEL SENSOR For limit level sensing of liquids in nonconductive plastic and glass vessels Miniature design in flexible housing, can be located on mildly bent surfaces The electrode system eliminates contamination in the vessel internal side Simple self-adhesive fixing Configuration and adjustment by third "programming" wire LED state indication Flexible level sensor FLD–48 "Meduse" is designed for detecting level of various liquids in non-conductive vessels. It is made from polyurethane fexible housing with fexible self adhesive layer, enabling simple attachment on fat and mildly bent surfaces of the vessel walls. Special confguration of the sensing surfaces and control by means of single-chip microprocessor enable reliable detection of the media and concurrent elimination of settled contamination on the internal side of the vessel. Tutti i dati ed i contenuti di questa scheda sono di proprietà esclusiva di Riels Instruments Setting of the sensor’s sensitivity is very – performed by attaching the programming wire on the positive or negative potential of the supply voltage. The sensor can be connected in the relay electrical circuit or on the control system binary inlet. The sensor output is equipped with short circuit protection. The capacity loads and low resistance (bulb) is evaluated by the sensor as short circuit. Note: In case of strong ambient electromagnetic interference, paralleling of conductors with power distribution, or for the distribution to distance over 30 m, we recommend to use shielded cable.

FLEXIBLE LEVEL SENSOR INSTALLATION AND SENSOR SETTING The sensor is attached by self adhesive removable layer, which is equipped with a protection foil. Prior to the installation, remove the foil and press mildly the sensor on to the vessel wall. Before the f rst usage warm up the sensor for the wall´s vessel temperature - approx. 30 min. If the original self adhesive layer is damaged, it is necessary to place a new layer on the sensor (supplied as accessory). In case of replacement or dismantling of the sensor, remove the sensor carefully from the tank wall. The setting can be performed by green,...
