Product catalog summary
Overview
The document discusses the installation and operation of the Master Switch static transfer switch, which enhances resilience and protection against power source failures. It ensures the protection of industrial utilities and critical IT systems from power supply and load faults.

Operating Principle
The Master Switch provides redundant power sources, allowing automatic or manual switching between two independent power sources. This ensures continuous power supply even if one source fails.

Protection Features
  • Power Supply Faults: Automatically transfers load to a secondary power source if the primary source falls outside tolerance levels.
  • Environmental Disturbances: Offers user-defined intervention levels for internal protection devices and disconnects loads in case of short circuits to protect other loads.

Design and Reliability
The Master Switch features high reliability with hot replacement functions, available in 3 or 4 poles versions, and advanced communication capabilities. It includes a microprocessor control for fast switching, parameter monitoring, and remote diagnostics.

Redundant Design
Power is supplied by two independent circuits, allowing hot replacement without power interruption. A backup function ensures operation if both power sources fail. Dual redundant ventilation ensures heat dissipation even if two fans fail.

Superior Protection
In case of an output short circuit, the switch blocks transfer between power sources to prevent propagation of faults. A backfeed control circuit activates protection devices if power returns to one input.

Accessibility and Communication
Components are designed for easy access and maintenance. The system provides status and alarm information via an LCD display and is compatible with various operating systems for advanced communication.

Options and Accessories
Includes software like PowerShield3 and accessories such as communication card adapters and backup power kits.

Technical Specifications
The document provides detailed specifications for various models, including nominal current, transfer types, input voltage, frequency, weight, dimensions, and environmental conditions.

Standards and Compliance
The Master Switch complies with safety and electromagnetic compatibility standards EN 62310-1 and EN 62310-2.

Master Switch STS Three-Phase-1

Master Switch STS THREE-PHASE Static Transfer Switch Service 1st start HIGHLIGHTS • High reliability • Hot Replacement function • 3 or 4 poles version • Advanced communications Installing a Master Switch static transfer switch provides additional resilience and protection from the disruption that can be caused by the failure of a single power source. The result is the absolute protection of industrial utilities and critical information technology against power supply and load faults. OPERATING PRINCIPLE Master Switch guarantees a source of redundant power, allowing the load to be switched between to alternative and independent power sources. Switching can be automatic (when a supply source falls outside of acceptable tolerances) or manually done by an operator from the front panel or remotely. PROTECTION AGAINST POWER SUPPLY FAULTS If one of the two power sources falls outside tolerance levels, Master Switch will transfer the consumers to the second power source (switching is instantaneous if the two sources are in phase). PROTECTION AGAINST ENVIRONMENTAL DISTURBANCES In the event of an overload, the user can decide the level of intervention of the internal protection devices in order to block the power supply. In the extreme case of a downstream short circuit, Master Switch disconnects the load in order to avoid jeopardising the operation of the other loads (i.e. in the event of poor selectivity of the protection devi

TOTAL MICROPROCESSOR CONTROL Microprocessor control logic ensures: • ast and safe switching between power F sources; • onitoring of all parameters via LCD M display; • onstant monitoring of SCR operation C • dvanced remote diagnostics (RS232 and A TCP/IP). REDUNDANT DESIGN Power is supplied to the internal logic by two physically separate supply circuits that are fully independent and that can be replaced in “hot replacement” mode without causing power supply interruptions to the load. In the event that the power supplied by both sources fails, full system operation is guaranteed by the “Power...

MASTER SWITCH IN REDUNDANT MODE The secondary power source [AS], although highly reliable, only powers the load in the event of a failure with the priority power source [PS], ensuring maximum redundancy and power quality to the loads. MASTER SWITCH IN CROSS FEEDING MODE The two sources power critical loads using Master Switches configured to selected one of the two power sources as the priority source [PS]. In case of a failure in one of two sources, the other will be able to supply power to all the loads connected to the system. MASTER SWITCH IN BACK-UP MODE Independent separate lines Master...
