SKIN PACKAGING MACHINES 3020SP Skin Packaging Machine The Ridat SP series of Skin Packaging Machines are designed to meet a wide variety of requirements from small batch production to fairly high volumes. Skin packaging resembles blister packaging with the major difference being that the plastic surrounding the product is formed over the product instead of being pre-formed. Process - A product is placed onto a piece of cardboard (usually pre-printed) which comes with a heat-seal coating pre-applied. The plastic film (LDPE or PVC) is gently softened by heat before it is automatically lowered onto the drape table. Finally, it is sealed by vacuum to ensure a firm fit. With the product securely held between the transparent film and the heat-seal coating on the cardboard, the skin-packed piece may then be cut into individual units. Automatic Sequencing - With each process stage programmable by the operator using a user friendly visual display unit, production cycles are precisely repeatable.
