GRADIENT FILTERS Variable Light Transmission Reynard Corporation manufactures continuously variable filters where the density or pattern can be customized to vary across the substrate. These filters come in a variety of configurations including: Bullseye® Apodizing, Linear Apodizing, Circular Variable Neutral Density, Circular Variable Neutral Transmission, Linear Variable Neutral Density and Linear Variable Neutral Transmission. Continuously variable gradient filters are optical filters that have variable light transmission and are designed to operate from the UV to the far Infrared. They can be produced as small as a few millimeters to over 250mm in diameter or square. The optical density ranges from 0–1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 typically. Reynard offers custom sizes and densities upon request. Custom prototypes to volume production are available. Contact us with your custom requirements! General Gradient Filter Specifications: Gradient Types: Bullseye® Apodizing, Linear Apodizing, Circular Variable ND & Linear Variable ND Optical Density Range: Transmission Range: Substrate Materials: BK-7, Fused Silica & ZnSe Coating Types: Dielectric & Metalli

There are two types: Clear Center, where the Gaussian density distribution increases in a radial direction from the center to edge and Dark Center, where the density increases from the edge to the center of the substrate. Bullseye® Apodizing filters which can be designed for any mathematical function regardless of the size of the beam. See Bullseye® Apodizing Filters Datasheet Custom sizes and densities are available upon request....

Two types: dark in center to clear on the outer edges or clear in center to dark on the outer edges. These filters are used to eliminate undesirable intensity variations in optical systems. There are two basic types of these filters: 1) Dark in the center to clear on the outer edges, or 2) Clear in the center to dark on the outer edges. See Linear Apodizing Filters Datasheet Custom sizes and densities are...
Open the catalog to page 3Circular Variable Neutral Density Filters (CVND) Circular Variable Filters (UV-VIS-IR) are filter wheels that linearly attenuate light as the filter is rotated. As the filter rotates, the beam intensity is customized due to the density variation of a gradient metallic coating around the filter. These filters are fully customizable in optical density gradient function, transmission gradient function, substrate type, coating materials, and size to meet customer requirements. Densities can be supplied as a standard linear or a customized gradient function. Custom sizes and densities are...

These CVNT filters are much more sensitive to position at the lower transmission values than are linear density filters. Sizes are available from 25mm to over 200mm in diameter. Custom sizes and densities are available upon request. The filters can be used with white light as well as with low power lasers. A large finite aperture can be attenuated by translating two filters in opposite directions. Custom sizes and densities are available upon request.
