Working Principle
Rotary vane pumps operate with a cylindrical housing, an eccentrically positioned rotor, and multiple free-moving vanes. As the rotor turns, centrifugal force pushes the vanes against the cylinder wall, creating a chamber whose volume changes with rotation. This mechanism allows air to enter through the inlet port, creating a vacuum, and compresses the air as it moves towards the outlet port, generating pressure.

Republic Rotary Vane Pumps are available in dry-running or oil-lubricated models. The VRT, DRT, and DVT models are single-stage, dry-cooled, and direct-driven for continuous operation. Smaller models (408-440) include an integral motor, while larger models (3060-3250) may come with or without a motor. Dry vane compressors can achieve up to 21.8 psig, and dry vane pumps can reach a maximum of 25.5” HgV. Oil-lubricated pumps (RX-Series) offer deeper vacuum capabilities up to 29.9” HgV.
