NORPOL® SVX GELCOAT REICHHOLD’S Innovative Solution for HL3 in Rail Our system: NORPOL® SVX H – 0.5 mm cured film DION® 7721-00 – 3.5-4 mm (three layers 450 g/m2 CSM glass) has been independently tested and verified by Exova Warrington Fire to be compliant for the toughest HL3 rating under EN 45545-2:2013 as needed for requirement sets R1 + R7 plus R2, R3, R6, + R17. The harmonization of Fire Testing across Europe has led to EN 45545-2:2013, which is now being implemented for all new rail contracts. Reichhold have developed an innovative HL3 system for use in this market sector for the hand lay-up process. NORPOL® SVX + DION® FR7721-00 has been fully tested to the standards used by EN 45545-2: 2013. NORPOL® SVX GELCOAT Results + Requirements NORPOL® SVX is a new gelcoat based on intumescent technology, which due to the nature of the materials used is inherently grey (slightly lighter than RAL 7001), and does not suit pigmentation to the wide range of colours we would normally offer. Transportation parts are typically painted so this should not detract from the performance level the system offers the end user.
