BS04 Butterfly Valve Lockout

BS04 Butterfly Valve Lockout

Product catalog summary
Description
The B-Safe Butterfly Valve Lockout is designed to lock butterfly valves in the closed position. It features a fully dielectric design with good low-temperature resistance. The material used is Intermediate-Impact Polypropylene Copolymer, with a flash point of 330°C and a dielectric constant between 2.3 and 2.4. The product is manufactured through injection molding and is available in red, yellow, blue, and green, with UV protection provided by the color added to the base resin.
Dimensions
Not specified in the document.
Assembly Instructions
  • Parts: 1. Valve Handle Cover, 2. Multiple Lockout Sliding Piece
  • Installation: Cover the valve handle with part 1, slide part 2 over part 1, align holes, and install your lock.
Chemical Resistance
Polypropylene is highly resistant to solvents, chemicals, and most strong mineral acids and bases but can be attacked by oxidizing agents such as chlorosulfonic acids, oleum, sulfuric acid, hydrogen peroxide (at 210°F), sulfuric acid (at 140°F), fuming nitric acid, and liquid bromine. Inorganic chemicals generally have little effect over six months at temperatures up to 250°F. Organic chemicals like benzene and acetone may cause changes that are reversible upon evaporation.
Useful Service Life
The product has a useful service life expectancy of 4 years, limited by environmental conditions.

Slide part 2 over part 1. Align holes and install your lock. CHEMICAL RESISTANCE Polypropylene like most of the polyolefins, is highly resistant to solvents, chemicals and most strong mineral acids and bases but it is subject to attack by oxidizing agents such as chlorosulfonic acids, oleum, sulfuric acid, hydrogen peroxide (at 210 F), sulfuric acid (at 140 F), fuming nitric acid, liquid bromine, etc. With a few exceptions, however, inorganic chemicals produce little or no effect on our products over a period of 6 months at temperatures up to 250 F. When the product is removed from an organic chemicals environment such as benzene, carbon tetrachloride, petroleum, ethanol, acetone, etc. evaporation will take place and changes resulting from the absorption will be reversed if evaporation is complete. USEFUL SERVICE LIFE The useful service life expectancy is 4 years and is limited by the nature of the environment.
