Product catalog summary
Introduction
The Type A Megaflex Valve, introduced by Red Valve, is an economical large-diameter automatic valve available in sizes ranging from 30" to 84". Its design is simple, with the elastomer sleeve being the only wetted part, which significantly reduces maintenance costs.
Design and Functionality
The Megaflex Valve operates through air or hydraulic pressure, with the steel body acting as a built-in actuator. This design eliminates the need for costly pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic components. The valve's full-ported design ensures no obstruction to flow, unlike traditional gate and butterfly valves.
Cost Efficiency
The full-ported design of the Megaflex Valve results in minimal headloss, leading to substantial savings in pumping costs. This makes it a cost-effective solution for various applications.
Applications
Type A Megaflex Valves are commonly used as effluent discharge valves in controlling raw sewage, storm overflow, flow equalization, mining operations, and bulk material handling.
Specifications
The valve features a carbon steel body and sleeves available in various materials such as Pure Gum Rubber, Neoprene, Hypalon®, Chlorobutyl, Buna-N, EPDM, and Viton®. It conforms to ANSI Class 125/150 standards.

megaflex-1

Type A Megaflex Ǡ Cost-effective, large-diameter valve Because it eliminates costly actuators, the Type A Megaflex is the most economical large-diameter automatic valve available. Ǡ Body acts as built-in actuator Ǡ Simple two-piece design: body and sleeve Ǡ No packing or seats to maintain, ever First introduced by Red Valve, the Type A Megaflex Valve is available in sizes 30" - 84" and is extremely simple in design and principle. As with every Red Valve Pinch Valve, the elastomer sleeve is the only wetted part, drastically reducing maintenance costs. The Megaflex Valve’s full-ported actuation is accomplished by air or hydraulic pressure. The steel body acts as a built-in actuator, eliminating costly pneumatic, electric or hydraulic components. Pressure within the space between the body and the sleeve can open, throttle or close the valve. Unlike traditional gate and butterfly valve designs, there are no discs or gates to obstruct flow or create turbulence. Ǡ Seals on solids Ǡ Full-ported design eliminates headloss, reduces pumping costs Like all Red Valve Pinch Valves, Megaflex Valves are full-ported. Thousands of dollars of savings are realized because Megaflex Valves have little headloss, substantially reducing pumping costs. Type A Megaflex Valves are often specified as effluent discharge valves controlling raw sewage, storm overflow, flow equalization, tailings in mining operations and bulk material handling. Materials of Construction Ǡ Carbon steel body Ǡ Sleeves available in Pure Gum Rubber, Neoprene, Hypalon®, Chlorobutyl, Buna-N, EPDM and Viton ® Red Valve also manufactures a line of large-diameter manually or electrically operated Pinch Valves in sizes 30" - 96".
