GT Precision LVDT Gauging Transducer

GT Precision LVDT Gauging Transducer

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides technical specifications and descriptions for the GT series of Precision LVDT Gauging Transducers, which are used for displacement and position measurement. These transducers are known for their high accuracy, precision linear bearings, miniature size, high cycle life, stainless steel construction, and infinite resolution.
Specifications: The transducers operate on the Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) principle, ensuring robust and reliable position sensing without electrical contact across the sensing element. This results in clean data, infinite resolution, and long life. The document lists various models (GT500Z, GT1000, GT2500, GT5000) with specifications such as range, linearity error, total weight, spring force, spring rate, over-travel limits, and sensitivity.
Design Features: The GT series employs precision linear bearings to enhance measurement precision and repeatability. The spring return version includes bearings to guide the armature and a spring to push it to the fully out position, suitable for applications where direct connection to the moving component is not possible. The air-push version uses air pressure to extend the transducer, with an internal spring for retraction, useful in conveyor systems.
Technical Data: The document provides detailed technical data including excitation/supply requirements, output load, repeatability, temperature coefficient, operating temperature range, and electrical termination. It also specifies dimensions for different models and notes that specifications are subject to change due to ongoing development.
Contact Information: The document includes contact details for RDP Electronics Ltd, the manufacturer, located in Wolverhampton, UK.

DISPLACEMENT GT Precision LVDT Gauging Transducer ● ● ● ● ● ● Very high accuracy Precision linear bearings Miniature High cycle life Stainless steel Infinite resolution These transducers are for displacement / position measurement. They make an accurate position measurement of the movement of the armature (the sliding part) relative to the body of the displacement transducer. This transducer uses the Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) principle which means that it is probably the most robust and reliable position sensor type available. The strength of the LVDT sensor's principle is that there is no electrical contact across the transducer position sensing element which for the user of the sensor means clean data, infinite resolution and a very long life. The GT series gauging transducer employs precision linear bearings to optimise the LVDTs measurement precision and repeatability. Spring return version. Our spring displacement transducer has bearings to guide the armature inside the measurement sensor and a spring which pushes the armature to the fully out position. Spring return LVDTs are appropriate where it is not possible to connect the transducer armature to the moving component being measured. End (axial) exit cable. Type GT500Z GT1000 GT2500 GT5000

The air-push version of the GT displacement transducer is extended by the application of air to the displacement transducer and is retracted by an internal spring. This is useful where the LVDTs position measurement tip must be retracted to allow components to move on a conveyor for example. End (axial) exit cable.
