Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides detailed specifications and options for the DCW series of submersible DC to DC Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) displacement transducers. These devices are designed for accurate position measurement in various environments, including submersion in non-magnetic fluids.
Specifications: The transducers are available in different models with varying ranges from ±2.5mm to ±470mm. Linearity error is maintained at less than ±0.5% of full scale. The devices are constructed from stainless steel, ensuring high cycle life and durability. They offer high accuracy and resolution with voltage or 4-20mA output options.
Design Variants: The transducers come in three versions: unguided, spring return, and captive guided. The unguided version requires external guidance for the armature, while the spring return version uses a spring to maintain the armature position. The captive guided version includes bearings for armature guidance.
Electrical Specifications: The transducers operate with a dual supply voltage of ±12V to 40V DC or a single floating supply of 24V to 40V DC. They feature an output load of 10kOhms and an electrical output bandwidth of 200Hz. The operating temperature range varies depending on the output type, with a maximum static pressure of 3000psi.
Cable and Connection Options: Various cable options are available, including end exit solder pins, fully sleeved integral cables, and mineral insulated stainless steel cables. Cable lengths range from 23.6 inches to 3281 feet, with operating temperature ranges and maximum static pressures specified for each option.
Output Details: The document outlines different output configurations, including standard and optional codes, with specific voltage and current outputs for different transducer models.
Contact Information: RDP Electrosense, located in Pottstown, PA, provides contact details for further inquiries.
Note: Specifications are subject to change due to ongoing development, and modifications may affect equipment specifications.

They make an accurate position measurement of the movement of the armature (the sliding part) relative to the body of the displacement transducer. This transducer uses the Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) principle which means that it is probably the most robust and reliable position sensor type available. The strength of the LVDT sensor's principle is that there is no electrical contact across the transducer position sensing element which for the user of the sensor means clean data, infinite resolution and a very long life. Our DC to DC LVDT transducer has all of the benefits of the LVDT sensor principle with the added convenience of built-in LVDT electronics enabling a dc supply and dc output. As an option we can offer a 4-20mA 2 wire connection to the transducer on some models. Our submersible displacement transducers are designed to make measurements whilst submerged in suitable liquids. Fluids which are non-magnetic can be allowed to flood the armature tube without affecting the operation of the transducer. This series of displacement transducer is available as either an unguided, captive or spring return version. Unguided version. On our unguided LVDTs the armature assembly is a separate component, to make a measurement the user must guide the armature inside the body without touching the sides. Unguided position measurement transducers are appropriate where external guidance is available and give truly non-contact operation L X 0.268'' 0.235'' 0.187'' M5x0.8, 0.6'' 0 + - 0.81'' Shown with standard cable assembly, see below for options 2.4''
