D5 & D6 LVDT Displacement Transducer

Product catalog summary
Specifications:
The document outlines the specifications for D5 & D6 LVDT Displacement Transducers. Key specifications include an excitation/supply range of 0.5V to 7V rms at 2kHz to 10kHz (sinusoidal), with a calibrated supply of 5V rms at 5kHz. The output load is 100k Ohms, and the temperature coefficient for zero and span is ±0.006% F.S./°F. The operating temperature range is -4°F to 257°F, and the electrical termination includes a 6.6ft integral cable, with longer options available.

Displacement Transducers:
The D5 & D6 LVDT Displacement Transducers are designed for precise displacement/position measurement using the Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) principle. This principle ensures robust and reliable position sensing with infinite resolution and high cycle life due to the absence of electrical contact across the sensing element. The transducers are available in unguided or spring return versions.

Product Variants and Performance:
The document provides detailed specifications for various models, including D5/25K, D5/100K, D5/200K, D5/300K, D5/400K, MD5/500K, and their respective HK, URA, and AGRA variants. Each model is characterized by its range, linearity error, dimensions, weight, and sensitivity. For example, the D5/25K model has a range of ±0.65mm with a sensitivity of 43mV/V.

Guidance and Installation:
Unguided LVDTs require external guidance for the armature, ensuring non-contact operation. Spring return LVDTs include bearings and a spring to guide the armature, suitable for applications where direct connection to the moving component is not feasible.

DISPLACEMENT D5 & D6 LVDT Displacement Transducer œ Infinite resolution œ High cycle life œ Stainless steel œ High accuracy œ Miniature These transducers are for displacement / position measurement. They make an accurate position measurement of the movement of the armature (the sliding part) relative to the body of the displacement transducer. This transducer uses the Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) principle which means that it is probably the most robust and reliable position sensor type available. The strength of the LVDT sensor's principle is that there is no electrical contact across the transducer position sensing element which for the user of the sensor means clean data, infinite resolution and a very long life. The LVDTs are available as either unguided or spring return versions. Due to our policy of on-going development, specifications may change without notice. Any modification may affect some or all of the specifications for our equipment.
