Introduction
The Unfors Mult-O-Meter mammography dose sensor is calibrated at 28 kV with a Mo target and 30 µm Mo tube filter. Due to energy dependence, correction factors are necessary for accurate measurements at different spectra and for HVL calculations. This document provides correction factors for air kerma for W/Rh and W/Ag beam qualities, with and without a paddle in the beam, using a Hologic Selenia mammography system. Note that the kV sensor is not suitable for measurements on beam qualities other than Mo/Mo.

Corrections for Air Kerma Measurements on W/Rh
The correction factor is calculated using the formula: a∗kV3 + b∗kV2 + c∗kV + d. The coefficients for W/Rh are:

  • No Paddle: a = -4.631∗10-5, b = 4.625∗10-3, c = -0.1572, d = 2.596
  • Paddle: a = -5.075∗10-5, b = 5.075∗10-3, c = -0.1721, d = 2.745
The paddle was simulated using a 0.1 mm Al filter. The estimated uncertainty for the correction is 3%, assuming a normal distribution and 95% coverage probability.

Corrections for Air Kerma Measurements on W/Ag
The correction factor is calculated using the same formula as for W/Rh. The coefficients for W/Ag are:

  • No Paddle: a = -5.933∗10-5, b = 6.123∗10-3, c = -0.2142, d = 3.307
  • Paddle: a = -6.130∗10-5, b = 6.307∗10-3, c = -0.2193, d = 3.326
The paddle was simulated using a 0.1 mm Al filter. The estimated uncertainty for the correction is 3%, assuming a normal distribution and 95% coverage probability.
