AccelePort® C/X Multiport Serial Cards & Expansion Ports Intelligent communications adapter and concentrator system provides highly expandable serial connectivity for large multiuser groups. Overview The AccelePort C/X multiport serial card system is a fast, simple and highly expandable asynchronous concentrator. This flexible solution is ideal for providing intelligent serial connectivity for larger multiuser systems, including retail Point-of-Sale (POS), office automation and data collection environments. This powerful solution is capable of connecting as many as 128 ports from a single slot on the server. One adapter can support up to eight Digi C/CON Concentrators with 16 high-speed, surge-protected RS-232 serial ports. Depending on the host platform, up to eight AccelePort C/X host adapters can be installed, enabling a single host to support hundreds of ports. Concentrators can be located up to 1,000 feet (305 m) from the host server using standard RS-422 cabling. Synchronous modems or a multiplexer (mux) enable seamless connections to concentrators anywhere around the world.
