Product catalog summary
Overview: Metaledge® offers self-cleaning filters for liquid process applications, reducing maintenance costs by eliminating disposable cartridges. Five models cater to different flow rates and filtration needs.
Specifications: Filters use brass or stainless steel with a wedge-shaped metal ribbon. Filtration ratings range from 25 to 500 microns, offering high flow and low pressure drop.
Operation: A cylindrical element rotates against a knife blade to clean contaminants, using air, water, or solvent to flush debris.
Models:
  • F-190: Cast iron head, steel bowl, 150 psi, 24 gpm, for low flow and portable use.
  • F-140: Stainless steel, 100 psi, 48 gpm, for batch processing.
  • F-141: Motor-driven, 150 psi, 82 gpm, for continuous cleaning.
  • G-144: Motor-driven, 125 psi, 291 gpm, for high flow applications.
Applications: Used in food and beverage, inks, cosmetics, chemical processing, oil and gas, metal finishing, and recycling.
Benefits: Offers precise filtration, long element life, high performance, and cost reduction. Effective for high viscosity fluids with flexible flow rates and micron selection.
F-144 and G-144 Specifications:
  • F-144: Stainless steel, 150 psi, 291 gpm, motor-driven for continuous or periodic rotation.
  • G-144: Stainless steel, 125 psi, 136-291 gpm.
Standard Features: Stainless steel construction, 4.00” NPS flanges, 250° F max temperature, 6-gallon capacity, 170 lbs with motor.
Options: Micron ratings, motor types (TEFC, EPNV), drain purge valve, steam jacket, ASME code stamp, special knife blades.
Ordering Information: Add motor code to filter part number, e.g., 6601950-01.
Element Capacities: Table shows capacities in GPM at 3 PSI for viscosities from 1 cp to 200 cp.
Comparison Chart: Illustrates size and specifications of F-190, F-140, F-141, G-144, and F-144 models.

METALEDGE® Innovative Self-Cleaning Filters Metaledge fi lters come in fi ve models depending on the desired fl ow rate and fi ltration rating. The smaller units feature a “T” handle, which the operator turns by hand to clean the element. The larger fi lters employ a motor and motor drive, which rotates the element against a stationary knife blade. 01 METALEDGE Metaledge® Series fi lters are self-cleaning fi lter systems designed for a wide variety of liquid process applications. The fi lter systems feature a cylindrical, cleanable fi lter element. An integral knife blade cleans the fi lter by...

METALEDGE 02 FEATURE DIAGRAM 1 As fl uid fl ows through the fi lter, contaminants collect on the surface of the fi lter element, which is sized for your application. Smaller particles pass through the media without clogging the element. The Metaledge® element rotates against the stationary cleaning knife, causing particles larger than the opening to be scraped off the element; smaller particles will pass through the element. INNOVATIVE SELF-CLEANING FILTERS 03 METALEDGE MEDIA: Metaledge® fi lter media feature a fi ne wedge-shaped metal ribbon wound helically on a perforated metal core. The space between each ribbon determines the micron rating of the fi lter. This space is precisely controlled by forming projections on the ribbon during the winding process. The tapered fl ow paths in a Metaledge element prevent clogging. Particles that fail to pass through may fall off or can be scraped off the surface by the cleaning knife. ELEMENT KITS: Metaledge elements are extremely durable, often lasting for years. Applications...
