EPIC™ C SERIES

Product catalog summary
Description: The EPIC C Series filter cartridges, developed by Purolator, are designed for consistent filtration across various liquid process applications. Constructed from 100% melt blown polypropylene fibers, these cartridges ensure efficient removal of particles and gels. The manufacturing process uses high purity polypropylene resin, resulting in a product free from surfactants, anti-static agents, binders, and adhesives, thus preventing harmful leaching into process streams. They comply with regulatory guidelines for food, potable water, beverage, and pharmaceutical applications.
Applications: The cartridges are suitable for food and beverage processing, metal finishing/plating solutions, municipal water systems, paint and coatings, pulp and paper, RO pretreatment, and solvent filtration.
Benefits: Key benefits include a continuously graded pore structure for enhanced dirt holding capacity, a proprietary manufacturing process, a high-strength polypropylene center core for optimized filtration and mechanical properties, wide chemical compatibility, and compliance with FDA and USP-XXIII, Class VI criteria. The cartridges are also incinerable for easy disposal.
Performance Specifications: The cartridges offer nominal retention ratings from 0.5 to 100 µm, with maximum forward differential pressures of 15 psid at 180˚F, 30 psid at 150˚F, and 60 psid at 75˚F. The recommended change-out pressure is 38 psid at 75˚F. All components meet FDA requirements for food and beverage contact and USP Biological Resistivity standards.
Materials of Construction/Dimensions: The cartridges have an outside diameter of 2.5 inches and an inside diameter of 1.08 inches, with lengths ranging from 10 to 50 inches. They are made from micro-denier polypropylene fibers with a standard polypropylene center core and polypropylene end caps. Gaskets/O-Rings are available in materials such as polyethylene, silicone, Buna-N, EPDM, and Viton®.
Ordering Information: The ordering configuration includes options for gasket or O-ring materials, cartridge configuration, center core material, nominal length, and retention rating. The series is identified as EPC, with various retention ratings and lengths available.

EPIC™ C SERIES-1

EPIC™ C SERIES Highly Consistent Melt Blown Cartridges for Critical Process Applications EPIC C Series filter cartridges were developed by Purolator to provide consistent filtration in a wide range of liquid process applications. The EPIC C Series filter cartridges are constructed of 100% melt blown polypropylene fibers that are blown onto a high strength polypropylene center core. The tortuous path created by melt blown microscopic fibers results in efficient removal of particles and gels from process streams. The automated manufacturing process used to produce EPIC C Series cartridges uses high purity polypropylene resin to produce a final product that is free of surfactants, anti-static agents, binders and adhesives. As a result, EPIC C Series will not leach potentially harmful particles into process streams. EPIC C Series meet all regulatory guidelines for use in food, potable water, beverage and pharmaceutical applications. EPIC C Series filter cartridges are available in removal ratings from 0.5 to 100 ìm and in continuous lengths from 4 to 50 inches. Purolator can provide EPIC C Series filter cartridges in most commercially available configurations to retrofit existing filter cartridges. • Continuously graded pore structure enhances dirt holding capacity. • Proprietary patent pending manufacturing process. • High strength polypropylene center core allows for optimization of filtration medium and enhances the cartridge’s mechanical properties. • 100% polypropylene materials of construction provide wide chemical compatibility. • All materials are FDA listed for food and beverage contact and meet USP-XXIII, Class VI criteria. • Free of surfactants, binders and adhesives. • Cartridge can easily be disposed of through incineration. • Available in continuous lengths to 50 inches. • Food and Beverage Processing • Metal Finishing/Plating Solutions • Municipal Water Systems • Paint and Coatings • Pulp and Paper • RO Pretreatment • Solvent Filtration D e s c r i p t i o n A p p l i c a t i o n s B e n e f i t s Purolator Advanced Filtration The Clear AdvantageTM
