PURION Tropical-box active The PURION "tropical-box active" is a compact plant for water disinfection. Due to its low energy consumption, the system can be operated up to 20 hours with the integrated lead-acid battery. Charging of the battery can be done with a solar panel or 110230V power supply. The PURION "tropical-box active" is been used to provide remote villages in the Amazon region of Brazil with drinking water for years now. In cooperation with the "world's food initiative" these plants have been also used successfully in Haiti which was heavily devastated by an earthquake.
