Product catalog summary
Introduction
The Long Sault Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) recently upgraded its flow monitoring system after 16 years of service. The plant replaced its older Greyline Open Channel Flow Monitors with new OCF 5.0 models to ensure accurate influent measurement.

Specifications and Installation
The influent at the Long Sault WWTP is measured using two 0.15 m (6 in) Parshall Flumes. The new OCF 5.0 models, installed by contractor Bob Crawford of Marleau Mechanical, feature advanced data logging capabilities. The ultrasonic sensors are positioned above the flumes, while the electronics enclosures are located in the plant control room.

Operational Requirements
Daily influent flow summaries are mandated by the Ontario Ministry of Environment for the plant's operation permit. The OCF 5.0's automatic reporting system facilitates the collection of daily flow data, including total flow, minimum, maximum, and times of occurrence. Reports can be accessed via a backlit LCD or downloaded to a USB flash drive.

Product Features
The Greyline OCF 6.1 Open Channel Flow & Tank Level Meter is highlighted as a featured product, offering enhanced measurement capabilities.

Conclusion
The upgrade to the OCF 5.0 models ensures continued compliance with regulatory requirements and enhances the operational efficiency of the Long Sault WWTP.

Long Sault WWTP Influent Flow Monitors After 16 years of service, the Long Sault WWTP replaced two older Greyline Open Channel Flow Monitors with new data logging OCF 5.0 models. This SBR treatment plant’s influent is measured with flow through two 0.15 m (6 in) Parshall Flumes. Greyline Open Channel Flow Monitors were installed at the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Long Sault, Ontario when the SBR plant was originally commissioned in 1995. But after 16 years of continuous service, components for the old models became obsolete. Plant operators Caneau Water and Sewage Inc. decided to replace the instruments and new Greyline OCF 5.0 Open Channel Flow Monitors were installed in 2011.
