API 13.356 PT100LS Load Cell Simulator Product Support The PT100LS is a valuable tool that can be used for diagnostic and pre-installation calibration purposes in many weighing installations and load cell applications. The PT100LS can be used for summer box and cornering diagnostics and for checking of ancillary equipment such as printers. The PT100LS is fitted with a DB9 male connector, wired for direct connection to an indicator with matching connections. For connection to an indicator with different wiring an adaptor cable is required. (Adaptor cables can be supplied for other wiring configurations on request.) For indicators requiring a 6 wire input (Sense wires) the Sense wires should be connected to the appropriate polarity Excitation terminal. When connected to a calibrated indicator, the reading for each of the stepped (top switch) settings represents a calibrated control value for this specific configuration. At any time the PT100LS can be re-connected to the same indicator and setup, to reproduce these values. The PT100LS can be used to pre-calibrate an indicator prior to installation by simulating the signal from a known load (calculated from the load cell mV/V). The simulated variable load output is controlled by the two bottom potentiometers, when the stepped switch is set accordingly. The coarse (left) and fine (right) knobs offer from below 0mV/V to above 3.0mV/V output, with the fine setting able to adjust a factor of ~1/100 of this coarse range. This allows the user to simulate an increasing/decreasing load to setup an initial precalibration for indicators, before being used in a field installation. The variable input can also be used to transfer the calibration from one indicator to another by simulating first the zero point and then the full load point of the first indicator. PT100LS DB9 (Male) Connector Wiring 0 to 2.0mV/V stepped load with 0.5mV/V intervals plus variable 0 to 3.0mV/V load, with DB9 connector.
