Functional Description: The Proportion-Air Electro-Pneumatic Proportional Flow Valve (FCV) uses a parabolic valve plug to ensure that the valve opening area (Cv) is proportional to the valve position. The valve position is controlled electronically with a closed-loop system using an LVDT for continuous feedback. The FCV includes a monitor output signal, selectable between 0-10Vdc or 4-20mA, and features status LEDs for power and TTL signals.

Electrical Specifications: The valve requires a power supply of 15-24 VDC at 250mADC. It accepts a differential command signal of 4-20mA or 0-10VDC, which is field selectable. The valve position monitor also offers 4-20mA sourcing or 0-10VDC options.

Mechanical Specifications: The valve operates with a media working pressure of up to 250 PSIG and an actuator loading pressure between 80 and 120 PSIG. It has a resolution of 0.3% and linearity of +/- 5%. The valve can withstand media temperatures up to 356ºF and ambient temperatures from 32-158ºF. The actuator housing is rated IP65.

Operating Modes: The FCV is available in normally closed (venting and non-venting) and normally open (venting and non-venting) configurations. Upon power loss, venting models relieve actuator pressure to atmosphere, while non-venting models trap pressure.

Typical Application: The FCV is used to control cooling water flow to a die casting mold, with temperature feedback provided by a thermocouple.
