Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides detailed technical specifications and operational guidelines for BB2/PSR and QB2/PSR pressure control valves. These valves are designed for precise electronic control of pressure in various industrial applications.
Key Features and Benefits:
  • Closed loop electronic control for accurate pressure management.
  • Quick response and resistance to shock and vibration.
  • Mountable in any position with a NEMA 4 anodized enclosure for QB series.
  • Field recalibration capability and CE approval for European installations.
  • Non-air consuming in steady state, reducing noise and saving energy.
  • Control pressure up to 200 psig and flow up to 700 scfm.
Applications: Suitable for automotive manufacturing, instrumentation, spray painting, resistance welding, paper and food processing, metal processing, and environmental waste management.
Theory of Operation: The BB2 or QB2 valve system includes solenoid valves for inlet and exhaust control, an external pressure transducer for feedback, and a ProAir volume booster. The system maintains accurate pressure by comparing feedback signals with command inputs.
Command and Monitor Signals:
  • Command signals can be analog (voltage or current) or digital (BB only).
  • Monitor feedback includes optional analog output and TTL signals for diagnostics.
Specifications:
  • Electrical: Supply voltage 15-24 VDC, current 250 mA max.
  • Mechanical: Inlet pressure range 0-300 psig, output pressure range 0-200 psig, flow rate up to 700 SCFM.
  • Physical: Operating temperature 32-158°F, weight varies by model.
Installation and Wiring: Detailed wiring instructions are provided for both BB2 and QB2 models, including pin designations and optional accessories for enhanced connectivity.
Warranty and Safety: The product comes with a one-year warranty against defects. Proper installation and supervision by qualified personnel are recommended to avoid risks.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION BB2/PSR and QB2/PSR pressure control valves combine ProportionAir’s closed loop electronic pressure control valve and ProAir series volume booster into one complete package. Output pressure is proportional to an electrical signal input. Three components make up the valve package: BB2 or QB2 electro-pneumatic valve, an external transducer, and ProAir electropneumatic valve regulator. BB2/QB2 Theory of Operation At the heart of this package is the BB2 or QB2 closed loop electronic pressure control valve. The BB2 or QB2 is a complete closed loop system consisting of valves,...

PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS Command [Volts] This chart shows the linear characteristics of BB2/PSR or QB2/PSR products when given a ramp signal from 0-10 volts. Characteristics would be similar for 4-20 mA units. RESPONSE TO STEP INPUT FLOW CHARACTERISTICS Flow [SCFM] FLOW CHARACTERISTICS Flow [SCFM] closed chamber. Step command signal is superimposed over pressure trace. Time is determined by difference between command signal and pressure achieved. FLOW CHARACTERISTICS Flow [SCFM]

SECOND LOOP INFORMATION All BB2 valves come with a matched pressure transducer for second loop feedback input. This transducer may be excluded by ordering option S59. Select this option if using a sensing device other than the pressure transducer provided. QB2 valves do not come with a matched pressure transducer for second loop feedback input. Standard QB2 valves accept CMOvdc second loop signal. Special options are available for 4-20mA and unamplified feedback signals. The second loop feedback can be wired directly to the 6-pin Hirschmann connector or through an auxiliary receptacle (S305 option)....
